This AC DC-powered smoke detector operates on 120V of power. It also uses ionization sensing technology to detect invisible particles associated with flaming fires.
This technology allows the unit to detect these particles sooner than a photoelectric alarm would be able to. However photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible particles associated with smoldering fires sooner than ionization alarms would be able to.
